Hello everyone! This week I wanted to highlight Pendleton’s Country Market and my trip to their Butterfly Bio-Villa.
About Pendleton’s Country Market
Pendleton’s is a local family farm that started about 40 years ago. I love to visit the Pendleton’s booth at Lawrence’s Farmer’s Market as well as just driving out. It is located less than 2 miles east of Lawrence on K-10.

Butterfly Bio-Villa
A couple of years ago, I took my 3rd & 4th grade class to their Butterfly Bio-villa. We had such a great time!! First we took a hayride trip out to the bio-villa:

What we saw inside was amazing!!!
We saw monarch butterflies in all three life stages. First, caterpillar:
Second, the chrysalis:
Third, butterflies!
Most of the time, all you could see was the top of my students’ heads as they were looking here and there and soaking up everything to see:
The bio-villa was amazing!! Afterwards, some of my students even got the chance to help tag a couple of Monarch butterflies!
We also passed by the maze on our way back to the bus and had to try it out:

FREE Pick-Your-Own Green Beans & Okra
Today, tomorrow and this weekend it’s pick-your-own for the green beans and okra. If you leave 1/2 of what you pick with them, then you can take 1/2 home for FREE. It’s a great deal, plus a fun experience!!
